This year’s Global 100 were recognized in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at a private dinner hosted by Corporate Knights and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). Each company was evaluated on a set of up to 17 environmental, social and governance indicators relative to their industry peers using publicly available information. The Global 100 companies come from 22 countries and encompass all sectors of the economy.
New clean revenue category
“We’re honored to be ranked within the top 2%,” says Annemarie Meisling, Director of Sustainability. “At Chr. Hansen, we want to create a more sustainable future for everyone. The Global 100 companies link superior value for society with financial performance – and it is exactly this we want to be known for.”
A clean revenue metric was added to Global 100 ranking methodology this year, with an aim to reflect the beneficial impact of a company’s products and services on the environment.
“The new clean revenue category adds a new dimension to the ranking,” says Annemarie Meisling. “It makes great sense for Chr. Hansen, particularly considering that 81% of our revenue contributes to the UN Global Goals.”
