Tips and tricks
Testing
- Keep cartridge horizontal at all times through the process
- When pipetting milk, allow it to seep into the cartridge from the pipette to ensure no spillage onto the cassette and into the reader. 20 seconds should be enough time.
- If the cassette isn’t fully inserted into the reader an invalid result may

- Connect reader to LAN to ensure software is always up to date
- Ensure scanner is connected to power source through reader so it doesn’t run out of charge.
- Test interpretation (visual reading) must be done within 2 minutes of completion
Cleaning
- If milk residue is visible on the lens, gently clean using a cotton bud moistened in ethanol, followed by a dry lint-free cloth
- Use a clean, dry cloth moistened with ethanol to clean the cassette slot fortnightly or as necessary
- When remove the cassette slot take care by pulling downwards. If you pull outwards the cover clamps may break.
