New product range for a new market trend

Chr. Hansen offers a product range that is well-suited to tap into the opportunities the plant-based market trend is offering. Our series of cultures for fermented plant bases enables producers to make healthy plant-based yogurt alternatives with the qualities we traditionally ascribe to dairy yogurt: A mild and fresh taste, smooth texture, and safe and healthy products.


The newest member of Chr. Hansen’s culture range for fermented plant bases is NU-TRISH® LGG® DA, that contains the Lactobacillus rhamnosus, LGG® strain. This strain has been studied in more than 300 clinical studies and described in more than 1,200 scientific publications and is the world’s best documented probiotic. The new culture is specifically developed for fermented plant bases.
Together with NU-TRISH® BB-12® DA, the world’s best documented probiotic Bifidobacterium, Chr. Hansen now has the two best documented probiotics in the world available for fermented plant bases.

Fast and robust acidification

An important property of our fermented plant bases range is the speed at which the cultures can acidify the plant bases. Building on our expertise in acidification and achieving customers' fermentation speed targets, these new cultures give producers the opportunity to increase acidification speed in some plant bases quite substantially. With our culture range, we can ferment all tested plant bases available in the market.

    Blend of Streptococcus thermophilus to ensure good robust and fast acidification and flavor of fermented dairy alternatives.
    Blend of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus supplemented with Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus paracasei and Bifidobacterium animalis to ensure good robust and fast acidification and flavor of fermented dairy alternatives.
