Responsible sourcing

Chr. Hansen is committed to promoting responsible business conduct throughout our business relationships and supply chains.

Throughout our business relationships and supply chains we have defined a set of Supplier Requirements for Sustainability to clearly inform suppliers, business partners and anyone conducting work on behalf of Chr. Hansen, on their expected social and environmental performance. All direct suppliers go through an approval process in which areas such as food safety, quality and sustainability are assessed. This is not just to keep our own house in order, but also to encourage our suppliers to act responsibly.

An important element of Chr. Hansen's responsible sourcing program is the development of close relationships and partnerships with our suppliers.

Chr. Hansen is also committed to be a responsible supplier to our customers. Our largest production sites undergo third-party SMETA audits on a regular basis and we also document out sustainability performance and management externally against global reporting initiatives such as Sedex, MSCI, Sustainalytics, EcoVadis, Corporate Knights,  FTSE, OEKOM and the Carbon Disclosure Project.
