About BioPlus® YC
BIOPLUS® YC contains highly-selected, natural strains of Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis. Daily feeding of BIOPLUS® YC promotes stability of the digestive tract, increases availability of nutrients, and reduces pathogen load. The overall benefit is better absorption of nutrients, leading to improved feed conversion and weight gain.
Improves Performance on top of Standard Diets
BIOPLUS® YC has a well-researched and documented ability to produce digestive enzymes (e.g. xylanase, figure 1), the activities of which increase the availability of absorbable nutrients and thereby improve performance. Daily feeding of BIOPLUS® YC in a standard diet has been demonstrated to increase average daily gain by 3.0% and feed conversion by 3.2% (figure 2).
Lowers Cost when used in Nutrient Reduced Diets BIOPLUS® YC
has also been proven to be effective in enabling the maintenance of good performance when utilizing nutrient reduced diets (figure 3). This is the cost-saving component of the FFF concept, which offers a unique opportunity to improve the bottom line, without sacrificing acceptable performance.
Flexible Feed Formulation concept
Flexible Feed Formulation concept uses the enzyme production provided by BIOPLUS® YC offering you two unique ways of application:
- On-top application to a standard diet increasing productivity
- Maintain productivity on a nutrient reduced diet using the increased enzyme production
The enzymes produced by BIOPLUS® YC will increase the amount of nutrients available to the pig enabling you to lower feed cost by feeding a diet reduced in energy without compromising with productivity. This gives you flexibility in your feed formulation.
Reduced Sugar Release (RSR)
Chr. Hansen has developed and patented an analytical method, entitled “Reduced Sugar Release” or RSR, for quantifying the end products of digestion of dietary fiber. These end products are the so-called reducing sugars and include glucose, glyceraldehyde, galactose and disaccharides, and can be directly absorbed and utilized by pigs. This method enables Chr. Hansen to test the efficacy of various probiotics on yield of energy from pelleted or mash feeds.
Research using this method proves that BIOPLUS® YC significantly increased the energy available from standard grower-finisher diets (see Figure 3).
