RC-14® and GR-1®

GR-1® was isolated in 1980 from the urethra of a healthy woman and identified as L. rhamnosus. RC-14® was isolated in 1985 from the vagina of a healthy woman and identified as L. reuteri. These are the two strains in the Chr. Hansen Urex Concept.

Both strains in the Urex Concept have been tested in numerous clinical studies with female subjects - and with no reported side effects.

Both strains have been used since 2004 as a food supplement worldwide with no reported side effects.

Both GR-1® and RC-14® are notified and accepted by FDA. The strains are considered safe based on the last 20 years of clinical testing and almost 10 years of clinical testing respectively.
