During the summer 2011, the British dietary supplements producer Wren Laboratories Ltd. launches a consumer product in the UK under the umbrella brand OptiBac Probiotics. The product is called "For maintaining regularity" and is a stick with a powder blend of Chr. Hansen’s Probio-Tec® strain BB-12® + fiber formula - to be sifted over breakfast cereals or poured into a glass of water daily or twice a day.
"We chose Chr. Hansen as supplier after reviewing several probiotic and prebiotic solutions offered by different manufacturers. We found that Chr. Hansen came out the strongest on quality, with impressive scientific research behind their BB-12® strain" says Jalal Janmohamed, Director of Wren Laboratories.
"We are very excited to be working with Chr Hansen on this product, using such a well-researched strain in order to maintain our presence as the UK’s expert within probiotic products, and to grow and diversify our customer base", says Jalal.
"We are launching two pack sizes of this probiotic + fiber combination formula - one with 10 sticks and one with 30 sticks, and expect a high initial trial rate on the 10 sticks, followed by strong repeat sales on the 30 sticks amongst customers prone to constipation. Of our 9 different probiotic formulas, we expect 'For maintaining regularity' to sit amongst the top half in terms of sales volume within one year of launch", continues Jalal Janmohamed.

"We developed the concept to support dietary supplements producers who demanded a product which could help people tackle constipation. It has been a pleasure working with Wren Laboratories Ltd. and preparing the product launch, and we feel confident that our development will match the UK market needs", says Christian Due Jensen, Sales Manager at Chr. Hansen.
