Chr. Hansen is involved in the development and manufacture of a range of phytonutrients for pharmaceuticals including natural carotenoids and polyphenols. Clinical studies support the fact that these compounds potentially can help protect against cancer, aging, heart disease and visual impairment. Chr. Hansen's carotenoids and polyphenols are unique in that they are mixtures as nature intended for optimal health benefit. Our range of phytonutrients can be used either as single, pure agents, such as natural carotene, lutein, lycopene and polyphenols or as mixtures of these. Our natural carotene products are exceptional in that they have a high concentration of alpha-carotene, which has proven to have a higher nutritional benefit than beta-carotene.
