Chr. Hansen in The Danish Council for Strategic Research

The Danish Minister of Science has appointed Annette Salskov-Iversen, Vice President of research and development of natural colors at Chr. Hansen, new member of the board of The Danish Council for Strategic Research.

Annette Salskov-Iversen has been with Chr. Hansen since 1999. As of February 1, 2005, she was appointed Vice President of research and development of natural colors, an area that sees high growth right now as more and more international food producers wish to avoid synthetic colors in their products.


Previously the 47-year-old scientist was product development manager at the Danish confectionery company ”Toms”. She holds a PhD from the Technical University of Denmark.

Annette Salskov-Iversen serves on several advisory boards and councils. She has been a member of the Advisory Board for food research for eight years and now serves on the program committee for the research program ”The food sector of the future”.

”I am very pleased with the opportunity to use my experience from the industry in a new context and am also looking forward to bringing new external inspiration to Chr. Hansen,” says Annette Salskov-Iversen.

Strong background

As manager of the research and development area in a global company, Annette Salskov-Iversen  has a good background for participating in the work carried out by the Strategic Research Council which demands experience and insight into strategic research projects, both on a Danish and international level.

Annette Salskov-Iversen has been appointed until December 31, 2011.

Chr. Hansen is represented in more than 20 scientific fora (advisory boards, councils, think tanks, networks and committees) all over the world, and each year the company takes part in over 200 scientic cooperation projects with universities, research institutions, PhD students etc.


The Danish Council for Strategic Research

The Danish Council for Strategic Research  funds research and provides advice within politically prioritised and thematically defined research areas.
The Council, which is composed of recognized researchers and experts from both the private and public research world, also seeks out new research trends and can launch initiatives on this basis.
