Consistent high quality

Our probiotics are produced to the highest technical and quality standards in state-of-the-art, purpose-built facilities. The process starts with the initial inoculation of the fermenter and ends when the product is finally packaged, all the while under the strictest quality conditions. Chr. Hansen was the first to obtain the FAMI-QS certification for probiotics.

FAMI-QS ensures the quality, consistency and safety of feed additives in the EU and fully integrates:

  • ISO 9001 FAMI-QS standards
  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
  • HACCP requirements (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)

Strain testEvery batch of Chr. Hansen probiotics is analyzed for content of active ingredient and impurities. These pictures show quality control at work. GALLIPRO® MS only contains two distinct colony shapes (Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis). Product A is reported to be a single-strain commercial probiotic. However, you can see more than one colony shape in the picture suggesting there are other, undesired bacteria present.

Proven heat stability OpenClose

Our probiotics are delivered in spore form, which is the natural protection of bacteria to adverse conditions. This means that the bacteria in our products are highly heat-stable up to 203°F, so no active cells are lost during pelleting.

After pelleting at 185°F, GALLIPRO® Max provides 100% bacteria recovery compared to non-spore-forming bacteria and yeast.
