Heidrun Meyer first met Chr. Hansen on an excursion during her studies as a Graduate Engineer in dairy technology. For the students, it was an exciting experience.

The whole class was very impressed by the company’s philosophy and culture and almost everyone wanted to get a job here. I was one of the three lucky people who got a job at Chr. Hansen.

My job

I have held several positions in Chr. Hansen – and they have all been challenging and educational. After just six months my former manager moved to Denmark and left me to take care of everything in Germany. I never learned so much in such a short time. To be honest, I had high blood pressure at that time.

Later I moved on to become project coordinator of the SAP roll-out in Germany, and just before the birth of my son last year, I had the chance to work for the marketing department. Here I had the opportunity to work with real customers.

My responsibilities

In my current position as Business Controller I’m responsible for, e.g., product costing, sales and price calculations, preparing reports and many other kinds of statements. An important task is to review business processes and take action if they are not lean. In this position I am fortunate to talk to a lot of different people in and outside the company. This makes my job very interesting and diverse.

My motivation

To me it has been very motivating to have the possibility to work on different projects and for different departments. The management in Germany is very open-minded, and you have the necessary support to take on new career challenges. In my eyes this broadens one’s mind.
